Bluewater White Marlin/ Sailfish Trolling Rod

Our White Marlin/ Sailfish style trolling rods are built on E-glass blanks and typically consist of all durable double foot guides.

These blanks are primarily designed for fighting Sailfish, and White Marlin. They consist of a softer tip section which is ideal for getting the perfect circle hook hookset, while transitioning into a stronger midsection to still give you enough lifting power to leader/ boat these fish.

We typically pair these rods with a fast retrieve reel in the 15-40 size reel class, and a size 1 unibutt being either Winthrop or Alps. The Winthrop Epic is  a non-adjustable butt available in a short and long version, Alps also offers a short or long version of straight butts with a more streamlined design. 

We typically recommend sets of 6- 8 rods for a true White Marlin/ Sailfish spread, and often build two rods out of the set at a shorted length than the rest. We call these two "pitch" rods with the idea of the shorter rod being easier to maneuver around the back of the boat to quickly pitch a bait to fish coming up into your spread. We will typically recommend a short butt version with these although this is solely angler preference.
