Bluewater 130lb Class Trolling Rod
Our 130lb class trolling rods are built on E-glass blanks and consist entirely of roller guides, either Winthrop or Alps. We can build these rod for either stand up or chair/gunnel fighting styles with chair/gunnel being the most popular.
These blanks are primarily designed for fighting Blue Marlin, Black Marlin, and Giant Bluefin Tuna. We typically pair these rod with a 130 size class reel and a size 6 unibutt again being either Winthrop or Alps.
The Winthrop T10x adjustable butt is a great option to fine tune the angle of the rod either placed in a chair or rod holder. The Alps bent butts provide a slightly lighter setup with a more streamlined design.
Our 130lb class rods are built with with all roller guides from the roller stripper, roller running guides, and a roller tip. This allows for minimal line friction while fighting these giants at high drag. We use either Alps or Winthrop Roller depending on customer preference.
As with all of our custom built rods, specifics such as length, color pattern, grips, and decals can all be tailored to your exact needs.
